I haven't been had a physical in years, so when it came time to have one, I went to ZocDoc, searched for a nearby doctor with good reviews and Dr. Ahad was who I chose. And I'm so glad I did!

I needed a new doctor bc my insurance changed, I've been seeing him for a few years, however I will not go back. He writes scripts that he wants and will load you up without letting you go to any other doctor. Even if it's depression or anxiety medication or for anxiety. You can only see him. When I asked for a referral for a pain doctor, I've had chronic pain for years, he wanted me to see a surgeon instead. He finally agreed to give me the number to a pain specialist then didn't give me the number until I said something and then didn't write me a prescription until I asked for one. He's a doctor not one for mental health and not one for chronic pain. If you need someone in and out quickly but to control my medication to be point where I can't see a specialist for pain and I can't go to a mental health specialist, I'm not okay with that. He doesn't know depth of mental health and if I wake up everyday getting blurred vision bc of headaches and can't move he should be more then helpful with getting me to a specialist.
I felt compelled to write a review after reading 2 negative reviews about Dr. Ahad. Please note there are also several great reviews about him as well. I had a good PC doctor for several years until she retired. Afterwards, I sought out several PC doctors that were right down horrible (they were only concerned about my insurance payments), not my health!! I found Dr. Ahad on Google and on my very first visit with him, he listened, examined, ordered test and gave me a referral to see an ortho doctor for my excruciating back pain and advised me that my blood test indicated that I needed to see a rheumatologist. I’ve seen him a few times and I’ve never had to wait longer than 15 mins and they will allow same day visits! Dr. Ahad will also respond to your message in a timely manner! His staff (especially Ashley) are very nice too. I recently relocated out of town and I’m seeing a new PC doctor here, whom is okay, but he is nooooo way good as Dr.Ahad. Trust me when I say that I will always travel back to Michigan, at least twice a year to see Dr. Ahad because he is extremely through and very smart and I TRUST HIM. He’s my primary doctor for life!:)
He is great, was nice and friendly, and took his time with me answering any concerns I had. His staff is nice too, and quickly follows up with results. I have found my permanent doctor, and will recommend him to everyone I know.
Dr. Shad took out the time to get my blood pressure medication in order. He will be my new physician!
